David M. Boeke, is Executive Director of Wellspring Academy of the Carolinas. With 16 years experience helping young people develop better habits and life skills, David knows that success comes from a positive relationship between children and adults that is based on love, care and support. David believes providing youth with internal and external motivation for change through understandable and predictable practices will produce positive results. Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, David moved to Western North Carolina to help struggling families, and has made it his home due to the exceptional people and natural surroundings. When not at the Academy, David enjoys spending his time exploring the outdoors with his family, whether it be hiking, biking or canoeing. |

Heather Ruth Richardson, LPC, NCC, is Clinical Director of Wellspring Academy of the Carolinas. Heather has over 15 years of experience working with adolescents and their families as a teacher, mentor, and therapist in a variety of settings including public, wilderness, therapeutic, and residential schools. She holds a Master’s degree in counseling from Western Carolina University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in NC and a Nationally Certified Counselor. Heather is passionate about empowering young people to work toward achieving health, confidence, personal responsibility, and success. Using a holistic approach, Heather engages her clients through cognitive behavioral and client-focused therapies, as well as via open collaboration with their support systems. Heather is fervent about being involved in community and is committed to an active lifestyle that regularly finds her hiking with her dog, rock-climbing, biking, and doing lots of push-ups! |

Jeff Rice is the Program Director of Wellspring Academy of the Carolinas. Prior to taking his position at Wellspring Academy Jeff was a Physical Education teacher and coached both High School Football and Wrestling with the Transylvania County school system for seventeen years. Jeff was born and raised in the mountains of North Carolina and has lived here in Brevard his entire life. Jeff grew up actively evolved in sports such as wresting and football. Jeff earned a bachelors degree in Physical Education at Pembroke State University where he also participated in competitive wrestling. Jeff enjoys spending time with his family and following all three of his children in their own sports programs. Jeff believes that everyone can reach their personal goals with hard work and determination. |

Nonnie Cullipher is the Academic Director of Wellspring Academy of the Carolinas. Nonnie has many years of teaching experience in diverse settings: a Navajo Reservation, public schools, a maximum security juvenile correctional facility, an inner-city program for emotionally and behaviorally challenged students, and an exclusive private day school. These varied experiences have taught her that children with different backgrounds, gifts and challenges can and want to learn but that multiple approaches to instruction are crucial to student success. Nonnie focuses on the ideas of mutual respect and finding the individual spark in each child that makes them feel seen and valued. Her Bachelor’s Degree is in the Classics and Philosophy and she has a Master’s Degree in Education. |
