Activities at Wellspring Academies of the Carolinas
Many parents report a growing concern about their child’s lack of physical activity as a major reason for choosing Wellspring. The scientifically-based Activity Management program ensures that Wellspring Academy of the Carolinas students achieve an unprecedented level of activity – starting at 10,000 steps per day (as measured on a pedometer), but often exceeding 20,000 (approx. 10 miles of walking).
An unparalleled range of activities are available at Wellspring Academy of the Carolinas. We also enjoy the exceptional parks and recreational areas available off-campus, providing additional opportunities for students to explore new skills and interests. Activities on and off campus include:

Daily Activity Goals
Wellspring’s Activity Management program sets students up for success both during and after their time on campus. Students learn to set daily activity goals, record their progress in a self-monitoring journal, and discuss the outcome with their Behavioral Coach. Every student begins with the goal of taking at least 10,000 steps (the equivalent of approximately 5 miles) each day. As students rise up the Wellspring Level System, the required number of steps per day increases.
This daily habit of goal-setting and self-monitoring allows students to quickly gauge their progress and work toward greater challenges. Students experience the rewards of setting and meeting self-established goals, empowering them to navigate their own weight loss journey and building confidence in their ability to meet challenges in all areas of their lives.
